About Us
Storyworks principal Elke Town has close to two decades of experience in film, television and print media. The chemistry between words and images is her forte.
Elke was formerly head of Telefilm Canada’s Creative Affairs Department. During her time at Telefilm she was involved in the development and financing of over 200 film and television projects. She has also worked at Head of Independent Productions for TVOntario and as an independent film and television producer.
Most recently, Elke led the NBC Universal Feature Film Screenwriting Workshops for WIFT-T and the Astral Media Harold Greenberg FUND Screenwriting workshop for the imagineNative Film & Media Arts Festival. In 2006, she was a consultant for Telefilm Canada’s Feature Film Fund Creative Immersion. Prior to this she helped develop policy and guidelines for the Screenwriting Assistance Program (now Writers First).
